Do you agree/disagree with Grossman?

I think Grossman is a very clever person to actually think of all that, and I have to say, his logic is good. Yes, i do agree with him, video games are just like cigarettes. They're amazingly addictive with an intoxicating ingredient. Adults producing games like that to children would make them feel like it's okay to kill, even in the real world. However, I don't think Grossman can blame it all on the games making industry, parents and other adults should be responsible, too. The situation wouldn't get as bad as Grossman showed it would be if the parents would spend enough time with the child to find out if its desensitizing and put a stop to it.

  1. I like your simile Anh that you said that video games are just like cigarettes and more people are starting to addicted to it, the video games. I agree with you Anh that Grossman shouldn't blame on the game industry because it's the parent responsible to make sure that their child is playing the right game for their ages.

  2. I don't think video games are like cigarettes. Games are to help entertain the kid. It's just because kids can't handle themselves over games because they are unable to pick the right choice. I agree with you at the part where parents should know what their kids are playing.

  4. I do think that violent video games are sort of like cigarettes because they are addictive and fun, so I do agree with you on that. I also agree with you on the fact that Grossman shouldn't be blaming the video game industries because parents should be responsible for teaching children not to kill or do some other violent things since if they won't, well, they might do some bad things in real life. However, I do not think that the video games tell children that it's alright to kill, I don't think that children think that. Other than that,I agree with most of the things in your answer.

  5. I do agree with you about the addiction of games but however, I don't think parents are enough. Sometimes stop making those games would be the best because A LOT of parents in this world don't care about what their children play. And I think most children are smart enough to know that they shouldn't kill others in the real world.

  6. Long: yeah long, that's the same as saying people should stop making cigarrettes, it's impossible! =)) Let's think of consequences : economy comes crashing down, people losing their jobs, the poor rate increases, poverty,...So don't you think it's easier to get some attention from parents?

I have to say that I agree with you for your logical reasons. I think the good part is "However, I don't think Grossman can blame it all on the games making industry, parents and other adults should be responsible, too."
